Our take
I wanted a portable controller for my iPad, and the Hercules DJControl Mix fits the bill. The touch-sensitive jog wheels are responsive for scratching, and the 4 pads per deck let me cue samples easily. Pairing via Bluetooth with djay was seamless, and the unit feels sturdy despite its plastic build. However, there are no built-in effects or audio outputs, so you'll rely on your device's headphone jack and app effects. The Micro-USB connection is a bit dated, and the single crossfader feels cramped. For $129.99, it's a decent entry-level option for iOS DJing, but serious performers might want more I/O.
